Baja Wellness Retreat

Terms & Conditions

Last updated October 5, 2026

We want you to arrive knowing exactly what to expect. These terms explain how booking, payment, cancellation and participation work for every Baja Wellness Retreat experience.

01About these terms

These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") form an agreement between you and Baja Wellness Retreat ("Baja Wellness Retreat", "we", "us" or "our"). They apply to every retreat, weekend chapter, corporate retreat, workshop and event we offer (each a "Retreat"), in Mexico, Canada or elsewhere.

By paying a deposit, completing a booking or taking part in a Retreat, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms, our Cancellation Policy and our Privacy Policy.

If you book for other people, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on their behalf, that you will share these Terms with them, and that you are responsible for payments for the whole booking.

02Booking your retreat

Bookings are made through our booking partner (currently WeTravel) or directly with us. Your place is held once we have received your deposit, and your booking is confirmed when we send you written confirmation by email. We will also send you a registration form to complete, which covers your travel details, health and dietary needs, emergency contact and your photo and video preference.

  • Please check your confirmation carefully and tell us about any errors right away.
  • Names must match the passport or government ID you will travel with.
  • All guests must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the Retreat.
  • Spaces are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Room types, including shared rooms with a curated pairing, are subject to availability.

For shared rooms, we do our best to pair guests thoughtfully. If a pairing cannot be arranged, we will contact you with options, which may include a single-room supplement.

03What your package covers

Each Retreat page lists exactly what is and is not included in that Retreat. That list forms part of your booking. Unless a Retreat page states otherwise, packages do not include:

  • Flights, ferries and travel to and from the Retreat location
  • Travel, medical and cancellation insurance
  • Passports, visas, entry fees or travel authorizations
  • Alcohol, snacks and meals not listed as included
  • Spa treatments, add-on activities and optional excursions
  • Personal expenses, incidentals and gratuities

Discounts offered as part of a package, such as spa or extended-stay room discounts, are provided by the venue, are subject to availability and must be booked directly with the venue unless we tell you otherwise.

04Prices and payment

Currency

Prices for Retreats in Mexico, including our Cabo retreats and corporate retreats, are in US dollars (USD). Prices for our British Columbia chapters are in Canadian dollars (CAD). The currency for each Retreat is shown on its page and booking page.

Deposit and balance

A deposit is required to reserve your place. The deposit amount, balance due date and any payment plan are shown on the booking page for each Retreat. If you book after the balance due date, full payment is due at the time of booking.

If your balance is not received by its due date, we may treat your booking as cancelled by you, and our Cancellation Policy will apply.

Price changes and promotions

Once your deposit is paid, we will not increase the price of your Retreat package. Prices for new bookings may change at any time. Early Bird rates, promotional codes and other offers apply only to new bookings made during the offer period, cannot be combined unless stated, and cannot be applied to bookings already made.

Fees

We are not responsible for fees charged by banks, card issuers or payment platforms, including currency conversion and foreign transaction fees. These fees are not refundable.

05If you cancel

We understand that plans change. To cancel, email us at info@bajawellnessretreat.com. Your cancellation takes effect on the date we receive your email, and we will confirm it in writing. The following applies to every booking:

Your depositDeposits secure your place on the retreat and cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
90 days or more beforeAny amount you have paid beyond your deposit will be returned to you.
Fewer than 90 days beforeThe full retreat price is payable, and no portion of it can be returned.
Cabo, April 2027For this retreat only, your balance is paid in three instalments, with the last due March 25, 2027. If you cancel on or before February 15, 2027, anything you have paid beyond your deposit will be returned. After February 15, the full retreat price is payable, and any remaining scheduled payments stay due.
Late arrival or early departureJoining after the first day or leaving before the last day does not reduce the retreat price.

All timings are measured from the first day of the Retreat. Any refund is returned to the card or account you paid with.

If illness or anything else prevents you from travelling, your travel insurance is the place to claim. We strongly recommend a policy with cancellation and interruption cover.

06Events outside our control

We are not responsible for any failure or delay in delivering a Retreat caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These include natural disasters, severe weather, hurricanes, wildfire and smoke, pandemics and public health orders, government actions, travel restrictions, border closures, civil unrest, war or terrorism, strikes, utility failures, transportation disruptions and supplier failures (each a "Force Majeure Event").

If a Force Majeure Event affects a Retreat, we will move it to new dates and let you know in writing. Everything you have paid, including your deposit, will carry over to the new dates. If the new dates do not work for you and you choose to cancel, we will refund what you have paid apart from your deposit, and your deposit will remain available as credit toward a future Retreat.

Baja Wellness Retreat is not responsible for supplier cancellations, service interruptions, schedule modifications, transportation disruptions, weather events, government actions, force majeure events, or any act or omission of independent third-party suppliers.

We are not responsible for costs you incur in connection with a cancelled or changed Retreat, including flights, ferries, visas, vaccinations, accommodation outside the Retreat, parking, lost earnings or loss of enjoyment.

07Itinerary and facilitators

Our retreats are designed to be flexible, and schedules are subject to change. Timings, activities, venues within a property, facilitators, menus and inclusions may be adjusted for weather, safety, availability or the needs of the group. When we make a change, we will replace an activity with one of similar value wherever reasonably possible.

If a facilitator, instructor, chef or practitioner is unable to attend, we may arrange a suitable replacement. No refund or discount is given for inclusions you choose not to use, or that you miss because of late arrival, early departure, illness or removal from the Retreat.

08Travel documents and insurance

Documents

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visa, travel authorization or other documents required to enter the Retreat country and return home. For travel to Mexico, we recommend a passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Please check current entry requirements with the relevant government before you travel.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that every guest purchases comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. A good policy should cover trip cancellation and interruption, emergency medical care and evacuation, and lost or delayed baggage. For Retreats in Canada, please also check that your provincial health plan and any extended coverage apply for travel within Canada.

If you cannot attend or must leave early for any reason, including illness, any reimbursement must be claimed through your insurer under the terms of your policy. We are not an insurance provider and nothing on this website is insurance advice.

09Health and participation

Our Retreats include yoga, movement, sound healing, ceremonies such as Temazcal and cacao, water and outdoor activities, and food prepared by local chefs. Every session and ceremony is optional, and you are always welcome to rest, modify or step out.

  • Please consult your doctor before booking if you have a medical condition, injury, are pregnant, or have any concern about taking part in physical activity, heat or ceremony.
  • Tell us in confidence, before you arrive, about any health condition, injury, allergy or dietary requirement that may affect your participation. We will share it only with those who need to know to support you.
  • Temazcal ceremonies involve intense heat and ceremonial cacao contains natural stimulants. Please check with your doctor if you have heart conditions, blood pressure concerns, are pregnant or take medication.
  • Water activities such as paddleboarding and kayaking are provided by third-party operators and require that you follow their safety instructions, including wearing flotation devices.
  • Our facilitators are not medical professionals, and nothing offered during a Retreat is medical, psychological or therapeutic treatment.

Guests are required to sign a participation waiver before or on arrival at the Retreat.

10Conduct

Our retreats work because everyone feels safe and respected. We ask all guests to treat other guests, facilitators, venue staff and local communities with courtesy, and to follow the laws of the country and the rules of each venue.

If, in our reasonable opinion, a guest's behavior endangers or seriously disrupts others, or involves illegal activity, we may remove that guest from the Retreat without refund. The guest is responsible for any resulting costs, including travel home. Guests are also responsible for the cost of any damage they cause to property.

11Assumption of risk

Travel and wellness activities carry some inherent risk, including injury, illness, heat exposure, allergic reaction, and risks linked to water, sun, weather, transportation and foreign travel. By taking part in a Retreat, you confirm that you understand these risks, that you have considered your own health and abilities, and that you voluntarily accept those risks.

You agree to take reasonable care for your own safety, to follow the instructions of facilitators and suppliers, and to tell a member of our team straight away if you feel unwell or unsafe.

12Personal choices and free time

Our retreats include unscheduled time, and some experiences involve alcohol, such as wine touring, welcome drinks or dinners. You are responsible for your own choices and conduct throughout the Retreat, including how much alcohol you drink and how you spend your free time.

Baja Wellness Retreat is not responsible for any injury, illness, loss or damage that results from your consumption of alcohol or other substances, or from activities you choose to take part in during free time or away from the Retreat program. Please drink responsibly and look after yourself and others.

Optional add-on activities, such as paddleboarding, cycling, wine tours and spa treatments, are provided by independent operators under their own terms, safety rules and waivers. You take part in them at your own risk.

13Travel to, from and around the Retreat

Unless your Retreat page states otherwise, you are responsible for your own travel to and from the Retreat, including flights, ferries, airport transfers, taxis, rideshares, rental cars and your own vehicle.

Any transport provided or arranged during a Retreat is operated by independent, licensed transport providers. Baja Wellness Retreat does not own or operate vehicles and is not liable for any accident, injury, delay, loss or damage that occurs during transport, whether to, from or during the Retreat, including travel you arrange yourself.

14Third-party suppliers

We work with independent businesses to deliver our Retreats, including hotels and resorts, chefs, practitioners and facilitators, transport and activity operators, community partners and our booking platform. These suppliers are not owned or controlled by us. Their services are subject to their own terms and conditions, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

15Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Baja Wellness Retreat and its owners, hosts, facilitators, contractors and partners are not liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay, expense or inconvenience arising from your participation in a Retreat, your personal choices including the consumption of alcohol, optional add-on activities, or travel to, from or during a Retreat, except where caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Where we are found liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid to us for the Retreat concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost earnings or loss of enjoyment.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law.

16Photos and video

We may take photos and video during Retreats to share on our website, social media and marketing materials. After we receive your deposit, we send you a registration form where you choose whether you approve being photographed or filmed for these purposes. We will only feature you in our content if you have given that approval.

You can change your choice at any time before or during the Retreat by telling your host or emailing us. You may also ask us at any time to remove content featuring you from our own channels going forward.

Please be mindful of other guests' privacy and ask before photographing or sharing images of them.

17Your privacy

We collect and use your personal information only as described in our Privacy Policy.

18Raising a concern

If something is not right, please tell your host directly and as soon as you can, so we have the chance to put it right while you are still with us. We are unable to address a concern until it has been brought to our attention.

19Governing law and general terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You agree that the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect on the date you book applies to your booking.
